Garden Design Strategy
Evergreen shrubs and groundcovers (manzanita, ceanothus, rhamnus) create a garden’s structure. Foundational plants serve as foil for ribbons or pockets of seasonal color (epilobium, achillea, eriogonum). Grasses add movement and texture to the garden. I strive to select a variety of plant forms, textures, foliage, and flower color to create year-long interest.
