Native Plants
Design Strategy
Evergreen shrubs and groundcovers create a garden’s structure. These foundational plants serve as a backdrop for ribbons of seasonal color. Grasses add movement and texture to the garden. In selecting a variety of plant forms, textures, foliage and flower colors--year-long interest is created. Native plants are adapted to the California water cycle, support beneficial habitat, and describe the place we live.
Landscape Elements
Landscape elements such as flagstone paths and patio, arbors, dry creeks and water features provide structure and functionality to the garden.
